Dr. Ravikiran Barigala MD, MPH did his medical school from Osmania medical college, Hyderabad, India. He came to the US in 2001 and got a master's in public health from Western Kentucky University, then he trained in Internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago and completed his fellowship in Infectious disease at University of Wisconsin Madison. He then went back to India and worked there as an Infectious disease specialist for several years before returning back to Chicago.
Dr. Barigala has been practicing since 2024 with Southwest Infectious Disease Associates. He goes to AMITA Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and Silver Cross Hospital in New Lennox and also has an outpatient clinic with IV infusion center in Joliet. Dr. Barigala specializes in the care of patients with Multi-drug resistant infections like MRSA (methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus) CRE and ESBL (extended spectrum beta-lactamases) . He has additional interests in HIV and TB. Dr. Barigala is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious disease.
He has published in several journals and spoken in many conferences and meetings.
